The Benefits of eReferral
Ocean eReferral allows healthcare providers to easily find specialists and health services, send and receive secure patient referrals electronically, and track the referral status all within one secure online platform.
In a recent survey of eReferral users, users who specified that they access eReferral through the Ocean Portal indicated that:
believe eReferral improves the communication and sharing of health information between healthcare providers
are satisfied or highly satisfied with eReferral
find eReferral easy to use and navigate
As an office without a central EMR, Ocean has revolutionized our workflow. We previously faxed paper referrals which resulted in a number of care
delays. Ocean allows us to track the referrals and I appreciate that emails are automatically generated when patient tests are booked and the patients are able to confirm with a click of a button. I would highly recommend Ocean and I have to other departments at our site.
The ability to improve bi-directional communication channels between PCP, Specialists, Specialty programs, and patients has removed a lot of the previous healthcare systems problems with respect to communication breakdowns and the lack of information related to a referral status.
